Language Selection
How It Works
In the language dropdown, you will only see the languages that are currently active on your WordPress site.
-
Step 1
If your site is only in German, only German will be listed. 1
-
Step 2
If you're using WPML or Polylang and your site supports multiple languages (e.g., German, English, French), all of them will appear.
-
Step 3
You can select one or multiple languages to generate alt texts in parallel.
Why don’t I see all languages?
AltPilot only shows the languages that are actually active on your WordPress site.
If your site is monolingual, only the primary language will be available.
To enable additional languages, install and configure a translation plugin such as WPML or Polylang.
You can update your site's main language directly in the WordPress settings:
1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard
2. Navigate to Settings > General
3. Scroll down to the Site Language option
4. Select your preferred language from the dropdown
5. Click Save Changes
This will update the default language used throughout your WordPress backend — and also affect the default language for alt text generation.
